Our Day at the Beach + Superhereos

Today we went to Colonial Beach. It's about a twenty minute drive from home. Max and Morgan loved every minute of it. CB is still the Potomac River but where we live the river is just a huge saltwater inlet really.

We packed a picnic for today too. Max kept getting sand on his sandwich. The water was just too distracting and not a lot got eaten.

The beach has a series of piers for fishing and man made break waters for swimming. The water was the perfect depth, temperature, everything. The only thing I didn't like was that Mo kept swimming under water and when he came up he had a dirty face. It's because it's still a river after all and the break waters tend to trap silt.

The boys made a couple of friends today. The people next to us had a little boy and girl who were bored with eachother. The kids played in the sand with them and swam. Morgan befriended a Navy Vet who taught him how to skip stones.

We hunted for shells but had more luck finding naturally tumbled stones and sea glass.

Mo and Max at the Playground

This is the play ground at school. The boys will do anything we say if there is any chance we might be going.

Oh and Dad, Max has been talking all day about having cake when Papa gets here.

Wrestle Mania and Slip N' Slide Fun

The boys love to wrestle with Shawn. It involves a lot of tossing Max around and hitting Morgan with him. Sometimes sitting on heads happens.

This is the Slip N' Slide that my dad sent us. The boys thought that Christmas had come in July when this baby showed up. Max was content splashing at the far end while Mo did his sliding thing. Max was pretty good at getting out of the way too. That picture isn't him getting hit is him making a bridge over Mo.
